Marketing/Development Associate

H.T. Dance Company, a 30 year-old, award-winning dance non-profit located in Chinatown, NYC, is looking for a full-time Marketing/Development Associate to join its team. Person will report to the Associate and Artistic Directors and must be motivated, organized, energetic, personable, and committed to promoting the arts and moving the organization forward.

The Marketing/Development Associate does the following:

  • Developing/Managing Annual Appeal
  • Grant writing & research
  • Help organizing Annual Gala & other fundraising events
  • Managing in-house mailings (postcards for shows, press releases, lec/dem invite)
  • Artist Relations for all events at the theater (i.e. scheduling, auditions, etc.)
  • Managing Marketing calendar
  • Writing press releases
  • Putting together press kits
  • Designing e-mail campaigns
  • Collect press listings
  • Developing and maintaining press/funder relations
  • Making sure website is up-to-date
  • Writing newsletter articles and helping with design efforts
  • Finding new ways to market the organization
  • Help with stage managing shows at the theater
  • Light phones
  • Light data-entry
  • Other tasks as the need arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor¡¦s Degree
  • Excellent writing & speaking skills
  • Personable (i.e. able to form good relations with constituents and press)
  • Fluent in English (bilingual in Chinese a plus)
  • Ability to work in busy environment
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Some weekend availability
  • Interest in/knowledge of the performing arts, especially dance
  • Creative thinking abilities
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; proficiency with email and internet

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience; benefits included.
